This month we will feature Project Journaling. When I think about projects, I think about “To Do” lists and home remodeling. Luckily for us we have a guest author this month who went through a major home remodeling project and not only wrote about it but survived to tell her tale!
I have known Denise for about 10 years. We met when she was hired by my former employer as a Senior Customer Service Representative. We subsequently became friends. Denise developed my first web site and faithfully scanned each and every card onto the site. She bought my cards and supported my business by attending the craft shows where I was a vendor. Denise’s business is Chilly Chasers She is in the process of re-vamping the business and taking it in a different direction. Because of this new vision, she [temporarily] took the “Add to Cart” buttons off her website while shifting gears.

With her home remodeling project(s), she’s got a vision to turn one room in her home into a Craft Room. With that said, and knowing my friend as I do, if one of her products happens to catch your eye, you can use the ‘Contact Us’ page and she’d be more than happy to make the product for you. Those Baby Blankets on her site are gorgeous! She kindly made one for me to give to my daughter-in-law for her Baby Shower. I also happen to have one of those Chilly Chasers’ scarves too; they’re long enough to double back and super warm too! After my retirement, she became an enthusiastic reader of my blogs and is excited about sharing her home remodeling project with us. I can’t wait to read her posts!

Our first Happiness Journal was a stepping stone for our family. As we each wrote about our reactions, thoughts, discoveries, struggles and victories, we expanded our family history.

I opened the pages of that first journal when I volunteered to write for Uniquely Yours Craft Journal. Re-reading the entries brought back so many memories! So, what did our Happiness Journal contain you ask…..

There were stories of events that started traditions, family traits, growth of relationships not only in our immediate family, but our extended one as well. There were reflections from each of the children when their Grandparents died, family dinner conversations, Girl Scout attempts in the kitchen, family secrets, science experiments gone horribly wrong, tree-house adventures. As I re-read, I found myself laughing and crying at the same time.

Writing the Happiness Journal was one of the best things we did as a family. I know that some of the children started new types of journals after that and I still blog about family relationships. At the last Thanksgiving dinner, when asked what they were thankful for, my children said that the Happiness Journal was one of the things that they remember and are thankful for the love sharing we wrote in the pages.

It has been a fantastic experience sharing our family journal with you and I want to thank Sallie for inviting me to share the journey with all of you.
