February Prompts

Dear Fellow Journalers,

Some of these prompts are rather “deep” ……………………..

If you had to be someone else for 24 hour, who would you choose and why? What would you do?

What ‘excess baggage’ are you carrying around?  Create a list o fall the negative things you would like to drop off at

lost property. How will you feel when you release them?

What is some of the best advice you ever received?  Have you followed it?

What does courage mean to you?

Today is Ash Wednesday. What does it mean to you?

Dear Fellow Journalers,

My new favorite “go to” place for finding creative journal quotes, covers and pages is Pinterest. So here in random order are my latest “finds”.

Prompts

Dear Fellow Journalers,

In my rush to write and post for this month, I completely forgot about these Prompts! These are ones that are ‘gonna make you think.

~Sallie

  • Create a list of things you enjoyed as a child. Add a photo of you as a child.
  • What was the biggest decision you made today/this month/this year?
  • What would you do if you had the ability to read minds for 24 hours? Several years ago there was a movie entitled “What do Women Want?” starring Mel Gibson. By some Hollywood magic, he got to read women’s’ minds for several weeks! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
  • Who do you admire and why?
  • List your favorite movies.
  • If you could choose, which era would you have liked to have been born into and why?
  • Go on a staycation in your own town. Visit local attractions, stores you haven’t shopped in before, events, restaurants. Keep maps, ticket stubs, menus etc.
  • Send someone a thank you note and write the note in your journal.
  • Make a list of 10 flowers you like. You can get pictures on-line or a seed catalog.

Read the following statement and write how you feel about it:

“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way”.

Wayne Dyer

List It!

Dear Fellow Journalers,

I thought that this month, I’d change things up a bit. July’s prompts are actually writing seeds from a class I took some years ago. Hope you like them:

List It!

Make a list of writing “seeds”. Under each category, make your own list. This doesn’t have to be done at one sitting, and it doesn’t have to be static. It can change and grow as you do. Use it as a jumping off point to spark your creativity.

Significant people in my life

What fascinates me

Fears

Favorite foods

Certain smells

Memorable meals

Family stories

Regrets

Accomplishments

Unfinished business

Under each category, make a list of things off the top of your head. Take just a minute or two. This should give you a little subject matter. Whenever you’re stuck, get out your list and pick something or add something. As years trudge on, the list will grow and change – just like you.

“Til next time,

~Sallie

Dear Fellow Journalers,

The April Prompts are:

  1.  Write down 10 things that make you happy.
  2. If you could be a “time traveler” for a day, where would you go and what would you do?
  3. Write about your memory box.
  4. What is it about Spring that you love?
  5. You’ve just  created your best ___________. How do you feel?
  6. What does the word “courage” mean to you?

‘Til next time,

~Sallie
