Dear Fellow Journalers,
Awhile back last year, I wrote a series of posts about kindness. You know how you go about living your life and suddenly an idea of epic proportions hits you smack dab in the middle of your forehead?? Well, my idea was actually a book that was advertised on Facebook and I had to watch and listen to the video and order the book then and there. The book is called Kindness Boomerang and is written by a wonderfully caring woman named Orly Whaba.
Anyhow, she and I have been emailing back and forth over the last several weeks and I decided that I would write a review of her book and share it with all of you. I hope after my review, you would check out her web site and the book which you can purchase at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Our local library just ordered the book too.
Thanks for reading –
~Sallie

Have you ever read a book that changed your life’s perspective? Orly Whaba’s book “Kindness Boomerang” has inspired me to go beyond my comfortable view of kindness. In my past life I contented myself with acts of kindness from afar but now with this book of 365 kindness gems, I have propelled myself into my corner of the world with greater enthusiasm. I find myself searching for the right way to show kindness to myself, my family and friends, neighbors and yes, even to strangers.
“We are companions on the journey; breaking bread and sharing life” (lyrics from the song of the same name by Carey Landry) brings this concept full circle. We all have stories and some of our stories do not have happy endings. We all have been affected by the negativity, rancor and recklessness shown in the last year. It’s time to make America kind again and this book, which is a cross between Chicken Soup for the Soul and a self-help book, will inspire you to not only show kindness but to look for it also.
I have long been a proponent of kindness, even writing about it on blog posts in my Pursuit of Happiness be grateful (11/30/16) but Orly’ book which gives you quote, act of kindness and perspective on each day’s page, leads one from meditation to action. Her stories, some personal, gives the reader practical, real-world examples of practiced kindness.
If you’re tired of all the negativity in the world and want to really make a difference then this book will serve as a catalyst for you
Read it, live it, and be a life vest for others.
