Dear Fellow Journalers,
What makes you happy? Did you realize that there are two major types of happiness? On one hand, there is the short-term type – for instance, you find a stamp, die-cut, or something “really great” happens and you erupt into a joyous “YES”!
The second type of happiness is long term. You experience a deeper feeling of well-being, contentment and satisfaction with your life in general. It’s been said, that when we set a goal, no matter what it is and we work hard to achieve it, our happiness is doubled.
When I was in High School, I wanted a car. My parents said “they’d match every dollar I earned.” I can still remember the color of the car, the smell of the leather and the way the car responded to my touch. It was my “baby”! My Mom said I kept it cleaner than my room!
The lessons I learned affected the way I set goals and I appreciated the outcomes. I was grateful for the experiences.
Last month I spoke about making a journal. A journal, sketchbook or diary helps keep us all on track. One of the recurrent themes in my personal journal features the relationships I have with fellow crafters, journalers, family members and friends. I am so grateful to all of you who continually show me your support, your love and advice. I tell my rubber stamp students that we all share this great craft. We all learn from each other.
Pay it forward. Express your gratitude. As you go forward on your crafting journey, you’ll be surrounded by people who make your life richer.
