How to start

Dear Fellow Journalers,

The first thing is always picking a journal. If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you already know this. 1. If you’re new to journaling, then decide if you’re going to write in a physical journal or a digital one. 2. If physical, are you going to carry the journal around with you or leave it in one place. Do you want lined or unlined pages? 3. Set aside time for writing. Try to keep a schedule. Why? Because, if you’re serious about this, you’ll want to make a habit. 4. Try a prompt to get you started. My Wednesday words (weekly) and my Prompts (monthly) are good resources. 5.Write about anything you’re grateful for, friends, family members, strangers who helped you. 6. Add pictures or artwork. 7. Check into your past writing. See how you’re doing.

Are you alive?

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when out hearts are conscious of our treasures.”

What is a Gratitude Journal

Dear Fellow Journalers,

A Gratitude Journal is a tool many people use to reduce stress, clarify thoughts and feelings and hash out problems. Sometimes people use it to write about a traumatic event. Given all these things, I would imagine more people are turning to this type of journal given the tremendous stress of the last year!

If you focus on the resources you have in your life already, you create a more positive mood at the moment. Surely, you can come up with three things you’re grateful for right now!

Some people write about the emotions that they experience to events that occur during the day. Next week there will be a Wednesday Word quote that is really pertinent!

Gratitude Prompts

Dear Fellow Journalers,

February is a month that celebrates love and gratitude:

What is one of your favorite songs from your childhood?

Describe a family tradition that you are most grateful for.

What do you like most about your town?

What recent purchase has added value to your life?

Describe your favorite scent.
